Abstract

To prevent the urologist from becoming simply a urinary tract mechanic we must develop more specific tests, perfect present tests and use these tests to elicit faulty mechanisms of host resistance of patients with urinary tract infections. We must then provide, from our research information, therapeutic measures to protect the faulty host from the inconvenience of recurrent significant bacteriuria and its sequelae.
