Patient education: a guide for success
Abstract
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards call for a more holistic approach to patient education. Health care professionals can coordinate their efforts by developing a patient-education guide. The guide, a supplement to staff-patient interaction, can give patients information on many conditions and stages of care.
