The effectiveness of nursing care after discharge from hospital

Abstract

Increasing pressures on health care services point to a growing role for post-discharge nursing care. Yet, the evidence concerning such aftercare services has been questioned. This article discusses a systematic review of research on the effectiveness of nursing care after discharge from hospital. The review shows that such care provides no additional benefits compared with usual care.
